Mid-April 2021
π£ New Features & Updates π
These are the most notable new additions to Moxion in this release!
Player Info With Web-Based Comments
We've updated our comments in the web app to now automatically note what resolution and dynamic range the viewer was seeing when they left their note. This will be super handy for making sure that everyone's eyes are on the same assets when they're leaving feedback!
Disable Download Ability
Our team is now able to completely switch off the ability to download at the Company, Production, or Folder levels. Once we have toggled this off, no one, not even Admins, will be able to download assets from Moxion. Please reach out to Moxion Support if you would like to take advantage of this!
Upload Speed Enhancement
We've done some fine-tuning to our uploader so that it's now better able to take advantage of situations where users have large/unlimited bandwidth to get their assets up.
Realtime Rename
While we continue to polish Realtime Review ahead of its full release, we have updated its tab along the top of the app to read Realtime instead of Review. It also carries the Preview tag instead of Beta.
π Bugfixes π
Here are the highlights of our resolved issues coming through in this release.
Tag Renaming
Attempting to try and rename or change a tag by double-clicking the text in the Folder Settings > Tags section would cause anything that you typed would be entered backwards. Additionally, any keyboard keys that overlapped with our transport controls (e.g. J/K/L) would cause the connected action to be initiated. Text entry is now in the expected direction and keyboard keys only affect what you're typing.
These new changes effectively grant you the ability to rename any tags that you've already created and applied to assets. Any changes you make will automatically be applied wherever the tag has been applied.
Screenshots in Web-Based Playlinks
Playlinks created using the Link with option have allowed the use of the Screenshot hotkey (G) in the past, which pushed users into a broken workflow for several reasons and resulted in a poor user experience. That hotkey has been disabled in the player for web-based playlinks to eliminate this issue.
Folder Admins and Root Folders
A recent change allowed those with Admin permissions at the folder level the ability to create Folders at, effectively, their root level, which could potentially be beyond the intended scope of their assigned permission level. We've have fixed it so that these users can only create subfolders within the one they're administering.
