This guide will help you install and integrate Flow Production Tracking with Flow Capture to experience the capabilities of Share playlists with Flow Capture.

Important:

About this Beta release

This is an early access version of Flow Animate in Context, designed to gather feedback from studios like yours.

The current setup process involves several detailed steps that we're actively working to streamline in future releases.

Some workflows are still being optimised, and certain temporary requirements are in place for this beta release.

Getting started

Before sharing playlists from Flow Production Tracking with Flow Capture, verify that your Flow Production Tracking site meets the requirements described in the requirements page.

1. Connect Flow Production Tracking to Share playlists with Flow Capture

Are you activating Share playlists with Flow Capture for a new project or an existing one?

2. Connect Flow Capture to Share playlists with Flow Capture

You must also connect Flow Capture to your Flow Production Tracking project before being able to share playlists between these two products.

Follow these instructions.

3. Share Flow Production Tracking playlists with Flow Capture

Now that both Flow Production Tracking and Flow Capture are connected through Flow, you can share playlists.

  1. Add media to the playlist to share. See Create a playlist to share
Important:

To learn more about playlists in Flow Capture, see the Flow Capture documentation.

Requirements and limitations

To Share playlists with Flow Capture in Flow Production Tracking, you must have a Flow Production Tracking site that meets the following requirements. Please note the media restrictions and playlist limitations listed at the end of this topic.

  • You must have a Flow Production Tracking hosted site.

The Flow Production Tracking cannot use media isolation (aka bring your own S3 bucket).

If your Flow Production Tracking site is configured with DIY transcoding, the sg_uploaded_movie  field must be set with the s3 signed URL of the uploaded media that will be shared in the playlist.

You must have a Personal Access Token (PAT) created on your site.

We do NOT recommend enabling the connected workflow on Production sites at this stage.

    • All beta customers should have an additional site to test any of the workflows. To create this site yourself, follow the instructions from this article.

Beta customers should not use Production data to test.

Disabling the Share playlists with Flow Capture workflow will not remove any data from Flow at this point.

    • Data can be deleted on demand.
  • Beta customers should not to rely on mid- or long-term availability of the data on this additional site. We reserve the right to break the compatibility of the data at any time.

Uploaded media format limitations

Only versions with movies are supported with the current workflow.

Supported uploaded media formats:

  • H.264
  • H.265
  • Apple ProRes
Note:

We will expand the list of supported media formats continuously throughout the beta.

Playlist limitations

  • Playlists should have more than 20 versions.
  • The version of original movies should be smaller than or equal to 20MB.
  • There is no upper limit on the number of playlists that can be created..
