Asset Settings & Information Panel

Anytime you click on an asset in the Assets Tab, the information panel on the right will display asset-specific information and settings. Within this panel, you'll find the following info about that asset to help you stay informed and organized.

Information & Status

Clicking the top icon will display general information about the asset you have selected, including the asset name, folder path, when it was created, size, length, and type of asset.

In addition, you'll also be able to select the Status of the asset. This Status function allows you to tag this asset with any of the pre-existing status tags, or a custom status created specifically for your project by your Production Admin. You can also remove the status that's currently applied from this drop down menu.

Metadata

Below the Information icon is the Metadata icon, which will allow you to view and edit the metadata associated with the selected asset.

Note that the metadata is separated into three distinct sections:

  • Asset Metadata - This section displays more basic metadata, like Scene, Episode, Camera, Shoot Day, Location, etc.
  • Other Metadata - This section displays more advanced data such as ISO, Lut, White Point (Kel), etc
  • File Information - This section displays additional info about the file itself, such as duration, resolution, aspect ratio, bitrate, etc.

Clicking into any of these sections will allow you to edit any of the associated metadata that is editable.

You can also export the metadata by clicking the Export icon in the upper right hand corner of the information panel.

Comments

Next, we have the Comments section. Clicking here will allow you to view any comments tied to the selected asset. Note that you can't leave a comment in this panel, and instead will need to open the asset in the player before you can do so. More on comments can be found here

Tags

Next, we have the Tags section. This section allows you to create new tags or use pre-existing tags, to help keep things organized and easily searchable. Unlike metadata, which is more technical information, tags can be use for contextual information, such as a description of the scene, the characters in the scene, location, specific environmental elements such as trees or rivers, etc.

Activity

Lastly, we have the Activity section. This section allows users who are admins to see a running list of all of the views and status changes for that asset. These can be filtered by type, by person, or both.
